AFESIKOS ®

AFESIKOS^® is a syntethic mineral, environment-friendly blasting abrasive in accordance with ISO 11126-4 N/CS/G. It consists of slag-tap granulate form which ferritic constituents have been removed almost completely. AFESIKOS can be used in accordance with the requirements of BGR 500, Part 2, Section 2.24, “Working with blasting equipment“, and has the following technical details:

• CHEMICAL ANALYSIS
  Aluminium silicate glass melt;
  chemical composition calculated as oxides:
  

  Silicon dioxide	42–58 %
  Silicon dioxide	23–32 %
  Iron (III) oxide	3–15 %
  Calcium oxide	2–8.5 %
  Potassium oxide	0.5–4.6 %

  The metals present are chemically bound in the form
  of silicates or aluminates.
• CONTAINS NO WATER-SOLUBLE CONSTITUENTS
• CONTAINS NO FREE CRYSTALLINE SILICIC ACID
• CONTAINS LESS THAN 0.1% METALLIC IRON
• Specific weight/grain density 2.4–2.6 kg/dm³
• Bulk density, for standard grain sizes 1.05–1.4 kg/dm³
• Mohs hardness min. 6
